Last update and Summary
The start of harvest 2017 has begun!
Currently, I am finishing off as much work for Barley R&D as possible before I leave to Multiplication once again.
Work has included harvesting more DRRUM material in the GH. As well as preperaing all labels etc for harvest in the field so everyone knows what needs to be done. This is the one negative of being a one man band permenantly on site in a department. Although I have embraced this and throughly enjoyed being held accountable.
I move over to Multiplication on the 17th to where my official 'placement' will come to an end early September.
This placement has been so benficial to me. Not only for my indivual learning and progression but as a year away from university, it makes you reflect on the last two years study. I feel much more confident in this industry now and ready to complete my degree.
From working at KWS UK, I have had the pleasure of working in a range of departments and met people from every part of the industry. Lots of connections have been made within multiple companies. As a result of my work ethic, further training and qualifications and understanding of crop science, it has enabled me to keep a job here and develop even further.
I throughly recommend taking a placement in second year, it is the best thing I ever did!
